BMW G80 M3 / G82–G83 M4 HFD Exhaust System
HFD Midpipe + Valved Axle-Back Exhaust System (T304 Stainless or Grade 5 Titanium)
Overview
The BMW G8X platform delivers incredible performance—but the sound still leaves room for improvement. The Valvetronic Designs HFD Exhaust System was developed to completely redefine the S58’s sound profile by combining our High Frequency Development midpipe with our signature valved axle-back system.
HFD, or High Frequency Development, represents a clean-sheet approach to exhaust engineering focused on optimizing exhaust pulse timing, improving acoustic balance, and creating a smoother, more exotic inline-six tone. Paired with our valved axle-back, this system delivers both refined daily drivability and aggressive performance sound on demand.
Designed as a complete solution, the HFD Exhaust System enhances tone quality—not just volume—eliminating unwanted rasp and low-RPM harshness while preserving the high-frequency character that makes the S58 come alive.
*When installing just the midpipe or axleback, ensure the cut at the OEM rear section is made around the second DIMPLE. This will ensure proper fitment*

HFD Midpipe is the Only Midpipe Youu should considered!
"Shipping was super fast. First bath had "some fitment" problems but we were able to make it work with minimal effort, just took a bit of time to push and pull a few things around but fitted perfectly with our catted aftermarket downpipes and oem catback box. SOUNDS TOO PERFECT!!! Thank you all Valvetronic team."

Good things come to those who wait!!
"Shipping was quick, I was surprised. I used the picture provided as instruction. The installation was relatively easy until I got to the rear section. The rear section that connects to the factory axle back appears to be slightly wider on the Valvetronic side but I got creative and it all came together eventually. I am slightly let down that the midpipe did not came with the HFD brace like what was in the videos😔, that was a miss from a marketing perspective in my opinion. This setup sounds great with the stock cats and valve controller!! There’s no drone however there is some “resonance” around 2k rpm, it’s VERY brief when the valves are fully open. I love keeping the revs up past 5k rpms just to hear that exhaust scream. Backroad drives and under tunnel passes are now fun again 😂. Great job to the Valvetronic team!!!!"

G80 * midpipe only
"G80 stock exhaust ( mid pipe only ) so at cold start a little more tone . In efficient mode just a little more tone. But when it’s in M2 mode . Completely changes the sound of the car . Well worth the money . I didn’t do full exhaust because I got a family and my wife likes to drive it so I feel like it’s a great middle ground . I also drove it 14 hours on a mini weekend road trip and wasn’t bad at all . Just for yall WGAF . Stay blessed"

Best Exhaust For G8x Platform!
"Deeper sound with valves closed compared to oem exhaust . In sport or sport plus modes sounds a lot louder! Pops when letting off the gas or downshifting . Was worth the money!"

Perfection.
"I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on an exhaust for the past three years ever since I got my G80 M3. Nothing quite sounded right until this HFD mid pipe. I chose to do just the HFD mid pipe to keep it an oem + build - couldn’t be happier with this decision. The tone has changed to how it should be sounding from factory, slightly exotic, slightly like a GTR, and it really wakes up in sport plus while going back to factory level sound in comfort mode."
