Audi RSQ8 Valved Cat-Back Exhaust System

T304 Stainless Steel with OEM-Style Electronic Valve Control

Overview

The Audi RSQ8 blends supercar performance with SUV practicality—but like many modern performance vehicles, its factory exhaust keeps things a little too restrained. The Valvetronic Designs Valved Cat-Back Exhaust System unleashes the full potential of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8, giving it the voice it deserves.

This 3-inch system runs from the downpipes to the OEM exhaust tips, offering two distinct personalities: valves closed for refined, factory-like cruising, or valves open for an unfiltered, aggressive soundtrack. For those who want even more performance and volume, our optional free-flow downpipes take things to the next level.

Controlled via OEM-style electronic valves, the system offers long-term reliability, seamless integration, and unmatched flexibility.

Why It Works

  • 3-Inch Diameter Tubing: Maximizes flow for improved throttle response and power.

  • Dual Sound Modes: Quiet refinement with valves closed, motorsport aggression with valves open.

Sound & Control

  • Valves Closed: Stock-like sound levels for comfortable daily driving and highway cruising.

  • Valves Open: Silencer fully bypassed for maximum volume and character.

  • Optional Free-Flow Downpipes: Unlock even more performance and an enhanced exhaust tone.

Awesome sound

"This set up came very well packaged. I swapped the valve controllers to the stock ones. It wasn't too difficult to install but I have two recommendations. First, get the vehicle up on a lift. Second, have someone there to help. It would have been easier had I had access to a lift and had an assistant. Sounds awesome though and we'll worth it as the forst "upgrade"."

A requirement for any RSQ8

"This exhaust totally woke up my vehicle! I ordered the full exhaust including the free flow front pipes, but I could not install those without voiding my warrantee, but even without it, my vehicle is in a whole new level. I never drive it with the valves closed. If you just keep it on comfort mode, the vehicle has that OEM plus sound, then once out of my neighborhood, I turn on the RS Mode and hear the glorious V8 sound. I can't wait for when the warrantee expires and I get to add the free flow front piper to really heard the full potential of this engine,"

The BEST exhaust!

"I had the privilege of being the first to get this exhaust on my RSQ8.... And let me tell you that it did NOT disappoint! It's a completely different animal. It sounds amazing. Looks amazing. And the fitment is perfect. The biggest benefit are the valves. It's rowdy whenever I want it to be and even more quiet than stock when I'm not trying to wake the neighbors. Hands down this is the best exhaust you can buy."

Q&A

Hello, how is it for fuel smells and the pesky engine light? In the past I purchased and FI exhaust for my audi R8 and I noticed it threw off my engine all the time and the fuel smell was much stronger than stock. As this is for my "family" vehicle I dont want to give headaches to the kids when driving it.
The system on your R8 likely used aggressive downpipes/high-flow cats that fooled the ECU into rich fueling (causing CELs). This Valvetronic Designs kit avoids that by being rear-only. We have not seen user complaints of stronger fuel odors. The valved design routes gases through mufflers when closed (mimicking stock backpressure), preventing unburnt fuel from escaping. Open mode enhances V8 growl without lean-running smells.
Will this work on a 2025/2026 SQ8? I don’t want to do the generic universal one since the cars $120k. I have the full titanium exhaust systems specifically Made for the 2025 and 2024 m3 and m4 which I own and love. Let me know.
This system is only confirmed to fit the RSQ8. Not the SQ8
Does this fit 2025. What are the sound differences?
Yes it does. It sounds the same as other models. Please refer to the videos in the listing
I am curious to know a few things about this exhaust. First, how is the software updated to allow the loud and quiet buttons to appear on the lower MMI screen? Is this change to the screen always on? From what I could see in the video, it shrinks the climate functions and I am wondering if the screen is permanently that way? Also, do you know how stock decibels compare to Valvetronic? Thanks!
There is no change in the software, basically you are programming the exhaust control module to mimic the function of the garage door buttons in the MMI system. Here's a link of how to do that so it's simple for you when you get your system. https://youtu.be/EJ8TIbB7kgc?si=FMpdqm8J0MUbYVX1 Compared to stock, when the valves are closed, it is actually 2 to 3 dB quieter than the OEM exhaust system making sure that those cold starts are extremely reserved. When the valves are open, you're picking up a good 8 to 10 sound decibels. At Valvetronic Designs we believe in optimizing the exhaust platform so that the enthusiast ( that's you :)) gets to enjoy an extremely flexible and dynamic experience where the sound is much better when opened and still very reserved when closed. Even if you combine it with the Race free flow option, it is still extremely usable every day no drone and no one unwanted frequencies.
