A fair review

"In general, I am pleased with my purchase for the cat back for my 2026 X6 M60i. Full disclosure, I am an extremely detail oriented person. So there are things I may pick up on that others don't even notice. Prior to my purchase I absolutely loved the mix of raw power, offset by luxury that the car offered. The luxury end was perfect (absolute sleeper) that rivaled any high end luxury SUVs in ride and comfort. Flip over the the "muscle end and the car is a beast, but once you get a taste, the yearning for more volume arises. Thus explaining the decision to purchase a alternative (& pricey) modified exhaust. All online videos etc. displayed an awesome sound improvement in the "open" phase and conveyed in the closed position (back to stock sound) . Well, the open is absolutely amazing but...there was a trade off on the closed position, albeit minimal, but definitely louder (kind of like a Kia Optima exhaust sound. The caveat is, once you experience the amazing growl (and have spent the cost & effort to install) there's no going back. Again, many of you may find the closed difference as negligible. Having said that, I have been told by several sources that the installation of resonators could remedy the situation. Obviously more work & expenses but if they are effective,in my opinion, would be worth the effort. In summary, the valvetronics exhaust is a very high quality system, customer service , (Amauri) very good and responsive, and the open sound (phenominal!) I'll follow up once I decide how to proceed on the "closed" concern."

Night and Day difference

"I just had my Valvetronic Sport Full Exhaust system installed in my 2025 BMW X6 M60i and it has completely changed the sound from where I was to where I am today. It finally sounds what a V8 twin turbo should, nasty as all hell!"

Just what I was hoping for!

"Installed the cat back system on my 2024 BMW x5 M60i and it roared back to life. It’s criminal what BMW did to the stock exhaust. A raging V8 under the hood but you’d never know it from the pathetic exhaust sound. With the Valvetronic system it sounds like the performance SUV that it is. And if it’s too much for some audiences, just flick the remote and the sound is back to normal. Couldn’t be happier. Shout out to Pierce… great customer support."

Solid sound and good build quality.

"The exhaust sounds exactly as I expected with the valves open–great tone and a solid kick at low speeds. With the valves closed, there’s a noticeable drone around 50ish mph (especially in comfort mode). It’s also worth noting that the closed-valve sound is louder than stock, but not significantly. The kit includes a surprising amount of unused piping and provides zero installation instructions, so expect a lot of guesswork and extra time during the install to try and piece everything together. It also didn't help that the pipes had random letters written on them, which did not correspond to anything on the diagram included. I initially tried using the factory ECU-controlled valves, but later switched to the included valve controller after realizing the stock valves don’t open at low speeds. Adding the controller afterward wasn’t too difficult, and I was able to reuse an existing wiring port on the right side of the trunk to avoid drilling any new holes. Overall, I'm happy with the quality and the sound. Took off one star for the poorly designed diagram included in the kit and the lack of any install guide, especially given how many pipes we have to try and piece together. . ."

"If youre thinking about it, do it. Completely worth it. Can silence the noise at will. Way better than alibaba counterparts, trust me."

Looks Great, Sounds Amazing!

"We installed the X6 M50i exhaust and were very pleased. The exhaust sounds a little louder than stock when the valves are closed. When open it has the raw, deep note you would expect from Valvetronic. This is a good upgrade for the car."

Worth Every Penny

"This system completely transformed my 22' M50i. It sounds like a proper V8 now and I couldn't be happier with it. It is almost impressive how terrible this car sounds stock. I am now so much more excited to get in it every day. With the valves open, it is pretty damn loud. The cold starts sound incredible. I now get those chainsaw-like upshifts that is characteristic of a more free-flowing V8. Tons of backfires when you let off after hard acceleration and nice burbles as you come to a stop. It just sounds mean and is well worth the investment if you are looking for this type of thing. There is a bit of drone at a certain RPM range between 1-2k with the valves open. It gets a bit better when you close them. Certainly not a deal breaker and well worth the benefit, but something to note. The exhaust tips don't really work with this car due to the bumper design. You need to remove some trim to install them, which is fine. But it looks a bit off because you can tell something is supposed to be there and its not. I like the quad tip look but may remove them and put the trim back on in the future and remove them. Or figure out a way to make it look more finished. Lastly, due to the way it is packaged for shipping, the install is a bit more time intensive. I was told it took an hour just to unpack everything, as it comes in a lot of piece. I received a wide range of install prices and would encourage someone to shop around. Everything did fit well though."

Q&A

Does this have to be installed with a downpipe? Or can this just be installed like plug and play, stock 2025 x5 m60i
You're able to run this no problem with stock downpipes!
Does this system come with a separate set of Valvetronic valves, or does it reuse the stock valves just with or without the control module?
This is a complete cat-back exhaust system replacement that includes its own exhaust valves and controller.
Are there any performance gain with the system (hp/torque) or is it mainly sound?
There is about a 10-15hp estimated increase. Volume and tone is our main goal. This system allows for great power benefits when adding a downpipe and tune
Does installing this system void the factory warranty?
This is a cat-back only and does not touch emissions components. It will not affect your warranty, but it is always safe to check with your service advisor
How does the valves work? Does closed valves route through muffler and open valves is basically straight pipe?
Correct!
