A manufacturing defect is defined as any characteristic of the product that arises during the manufacturing process which impairs its usability for the purposes for which it was designed and manufactured.
Products are guaranteed to fit and function as designed on their intended vehicle application, provided the vehicle has not been modified or incurred structural damage. Sound or tone is not a warrantable or returnable issue, as exhaust sound is subjective and not considered a defect.

"Installed the cat back system on my 2024 BMW x5 M60i and it roared back to life. It’s criminal what BMW did to the stock exhaust. A raging V8 under the hood but you’d never know it from the pathetic exhaust sound. With the Valvetronic system it sounds like the performance SUV that it is. And if it’s too much for some audiences, just flick the remote and the sound is back to normal. Couldn’t be happier. Shout out to Pierce… great customer support."
"The exhaust sounds exactly as I expected with the valves open–great tone and a solid kick at low speeds. With the valves closed, there’s a noticeable drone around 50ish mph (especially in comfort mode). It’s also worth noting that the closed-valve sound is louder than stock, but not significantly. The kit includes a surprising amount of unused piping and provides zero installation instructions, so expect a lot of guesswork and extra time during the install to try and piece everything together. It also didn't help that the pipes had random letters written on them, which did not correspond to anything on the diagram included. I initially tried using the factory ECU-controlled valves, but later switched to the included valve controller after realizing the stock valves don’t open at low speeds. Adding the controller afterward wasn’t too difficult, and I was able to reuse an existing wiring port on the right side of the trunk to avoid drilling any new holes. Overall, I'm happy with the quality and the sound. Took off one star for the poorly designed diagram included in the kit and the lack of any install guide, especially given how many pipes we have to try and piece together. . ."

"We installed the X6 M50i exhaust and were very pleased. The exhaust sounds a little louder than stock when the valves are closed. When open it has the raw, deep note you would expect from Valvetronic. This is a good upgrade for the car."

"This system completely transformed my 22' M50i. It sounds like a proper V8 now and I couldn't be happier with it. It is almost impressive how terrible this car sounds stock. I am now so much more excited to get in it every day. With the valves open, it is pretty damn loud. The cold starts sound incredible. I now get those chainsaw-like upshifts that is characteristic of a more free-flowing V8. Tons of backfires when you let off after hard acceleration and nice burbles as you come to a stop. It just sounds mean and is well worth the investment if you are looking for this type of thing. There is a bit of drone at a certain RPM range between 1-2k with the valves open. It gets a bit better when you close them. Certainly not a deal breaker and well worth the benefit, but something to note. The exhaust tips don't really work with this car due to the bumper design. You need to remove some trim to install them, which is fine. But it looks a bit off because you can tell something is supposed to be there and its not. I like the quad tip look but may remove them and put the trim back on in the future and remove them. Or figure out a way to make it look more finished. Lastly, due to the way it is packaged for shipping, the install is a bit more time intensive. I was told it took an hour just to unpack everything, as it comes in a lot of piece. I received a wide range of install prices and would encourage someone to shop around. Everything did fit well though."
